Frequently Asked Questions
How Do You Charge?
I usually charge a standard rate per hour depending on the type of work and the equipment being used plus a transportation charge per day. I may also charge a fuel/equipment charge per day.
How far do you travel?
My general radius is about 60 miles from my location. I will travel further from time to time as needed.
Do you buy logs or trees?
I may be interested in buying certain logs, including Walnut, White Oak, and Cedar. I do not buy firewood logs. My logging work is usually done on an hourly or percentage basis. If you are interested in maximizing your profit on a large timber sale, I recommend you hire a forestry consultant.
Do you take down trees?
I can remove most trees depending on the size and location. I work from the ground only and practice proper tree felling techniques. I do not offer climbing services or bucket truck services. Some trees require a properly trained and skilled arborist for removal. I work with a certified arborist and climber for certain projects or I can recommend someone.
Will you take my dead trees for firewood?
On occasion, I may be interested in taking your dead or down trees for firewood. If you are within a certain distance, and you have a fair amount, I may offer a discount for removal. Please contact me for more information.
Do you do landscaping?
Sometimes. I have slowly shifted the focus of my business over the years and do very little landscaping now. If you have a project in mind, feel free to contact me to see if I have the time.
What kind of logs are you looking for?
I am interested in Walnut, White Oak, and Cedar for saw logs. I am interested in standing dead or down firewood logs I can harvest.
Is your firewood dry and seasoned?
I usually have seasoned firewood in stock and ready to deliver. Please ask about current inventory as it moves fast.
